Ty'n y Berth Mountain Centres  - Outdoor Education Courses - Low Level Walks

Suitability: All Age Groups Duration: Full or 1/2 day

Bird Rock or Craig Aderyn is the site of an Iron age hill fort, the remains of which are still visible. Though the ascent usually takes about an hour, the feeling is that of being much higher. The whole route takes an=bout 2 1/2 - 3 hours including rest stops, and combines well with climbing at Craig y Col or Tonfanau.

The summit is about 750 ft high, and is set on top of a cliff that is famous for its colonies of nesting birds and offers spectacular views down the valley to the sea.
The Precipice Walk is very popular with groups that don't enjoy too much up-hill struggle, but still want a mountain experience.

The route starts at a high level car park then sets out through a forest, over upland pasture to where the path goes around a hill. The path then swings around to complete the circle past an upland lake.

This walk is set high above the River Mawddach, with superb views down the estuary to the sea at Barmouth. During good weather, there are great views of Cadair Idris and Snowdon in the distance.
The walk takes 2 to 3 hours of easy paced walking, and combines well with pony trekking or rock climbing at Barmouth.

There are many other places to walk in the area, including Beaches, Waterfalls, Forests, Castles, Rivers and Lakes.
