Instructors of Outdoor Education

6 month fixed term contract

 

 

 

The two well established Centres, Ty'n y Berth and Bryn Coedwig, are situated close to the village of Corris, on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park, and are part of the Widehorizons Outdoor Education Trust. Courses focus on the personal development of young people through Outdoor Education.

 

We require a 2 qualified and experienced Instructors from March 2012

 

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the philosophy of Outdoor Education, with proven experience working in a residential Outdoor Centre. You will be self motivating and able to work as part of a team.

 

You will hold, or be close to gaining the majority from:

  • Summer ML
  • Single Pitch Award
  • UKCC Level 1 Coach (or established L2 coach) Canoe/Kayak
  • LCMLA Level 1
  • RP/APIOL

 

The ability to drive a mini bus is essential, as is a current first aid certificate.

 

APT&C scale 4 (£17162 - £19125 pro rata) dependent upon experience and qualifications

Freelance Instructors

We are looking for suitably qualified & experienced instructors to join the supply list for occasional work at Ty'n y Berth Mountain Centres.

Instructors must hold several of the following awards:
Summer ML
SPA,
LCMLA L1
BCU L2

and hold a recent CRB check, First Aid, and be able to drive a mini bus (D1).
