This is an adventurous activity filled with fun and excitement, no wonder it is one of the most popular.
It involves the group following a leader up a narrow, steep sided, fast flowing stream. A typical journey will incorporate climbing over rocks , jumping across small pools, sliding down a zip wire, walking across a high log (safeguarded by a rope) and finishing with a dunking in a pool. |
 |
The route chosen can be made easier or more challenging, depending on the age and ability of the students, and the weather.
If conditions are warm enough, most groups like to jump in at the final pool for a splash about.

Gorge Walking is an excellent activity for encouraging team skills, helping & supporting each other and of course, getting very, very wet!
All participants are provided with the necessary safety equipment suitable for the conditions and chosen venue.

For older groups, there is the option of a slightly more demanding wet gorge near Abergynolwyn. This has deeper, faster flowing water and finishes with the option of jumping into a plunge pool!
Gorge Walking is often better in the afternoon (due to everyone usually finishing wet!) and combines well with Orienteering or other 1/2 day activities near the Centre. |
