Sunset in London – Sunrise in Kent
Walk through the night and change a child’s life!
On Saturday 24th June 2017, we are inviting you to take part in an incredible summer solstice night-walk through the striking urban landscapes of London and into the gorgeous countryside of Kent to raise vital funds to help local children experience life changing adventures.
For those new to the challenge you can choose from either a 50km or 25km route linking up our centres in south east London and Kent.
The walk starts at Wide Horizons Environment Centre in Eltham, South-East London. The first 25km follows some of the areas famous walking trails including the Green Chain Link, London Loop, and Darent Valley Path before arriving at our Wide Horizons Horton Kirby Centre for a rest and refuel.
The walk then continues for the second 25km on the Darent Valley Path and then onto the North Downs Way finishing up at our Wide Horizons Margaret McMillan House in Wrotham, Kent where we welcome participants with a hot breakfast!
Nightline is a great event that everyone can enjoy – no matter how fit you are or whether you’ve done anything like this before. You’ll be kept energised throughout the night with regular rest stops, the entire route will be waymarked with illuminated arrows, so that you don’t lose your way, and there is a shuttle bus which will take everyone back to the starting point.
