The Big Half

The Big Half is a new event held for the first time on Sunday 4th March 2018.

Created by London Marathon Events Ltd in partnership with Sported, The Big Half is a new one day festival created around the half marathon distance which aims to be truly global and uniquely local in a celebration of the wonderful cultural diversity of the great city of London.

Thanks to the generosity of the Mayor of the London Borough of Greenwich, we are extremely excited to announce that we have GUARANTEED places available for the 2018 event and we are looking for some special people to represent our amazing charity on this event.

We are here to help you! Whether it is fundraising or training support we have a breadth of experience, ideas and suggestions to help you complete both the fundraising and physical aspects of this amazing challenge.

Why choose Wide Horizons?

Poverty, obesity, mental health problems, disconnection from nature and feelings of isolation are just some of the struggles that are starting to define childhood in the UK. Without urgent intervention, the challenges that are faced by young people today are expected to continue to rise, making escape from poverty and it’s harrowing associations increasingly unlikely.

Wide Horizons is fighting these challenges through inspirational Adventure Learning experiences. Driven by our belief that every child should have the opportunity to experience adventure, we are committed to developing well-rounded young people who are environmentally conscious, active members of their communities and have the skills to build their own futures.

You can play a vital role in helping us to bring Adventure Learning to more disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

By giving the gift of adventure, you’ll be providing the next generation with the tools they need to build a better future for themselves and create a more vibrant and cohesive society, so thank you.
