...The Location
The two buildings are situated close to the village of Corris, just north of the market town of Machynlleth on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Within 20 minutes drive from the Centres are several mountain bike trails, mountains, rivers and the sea.
Accommodation is available in either or both of our buildings, each sleeping approximately 35 people in warm, comfortable mainly bunkroom style accommodation. |

…The Layout - Ty'n y Berth
A converted village school, in Corris Uchaf, at the foot of Cadair Idris, Spacious centrally heated accommodation sleeping up to 36 people:
Downstairs, 2 bunkrooms each sleeping 6, 1 bunkroom sleeping 4 and 1 twin room.
Upstairs, 1 room with 8 single beds, 1 bunkroom sleeping 6, 1 double, & 2 single rooms. Toilets & showers are located throughout the building.
Ty'n y Berth has a large main room divided into a dining room and lounge, a drying room for outdoor equipment and lockable storage for boats & bikes etc. |
Bryn CoedwigLocated 10 minutes from TYB in Aberllefenni, in the heart of the Dyfi forest. This is also a converted village school, again with spacious centrally heated accommodation. This building sleeps up to 35 people:
Downstairs, 1 bunkroom sleeping 12,
Upstairs 3 bunkrooms each sleeping 6, 1 twin & 1 triple.
Toilets & showers are located both upstairs & downstairs.
There is a large main room that is used as a dining room and lounge, plus a smaller games room. There is also a drying room for outdoor equipment.

…The Facilities!
A choice of 2 pubs are within walking distance from the Centres. The Slaters Arms, which also does bar meals, and the Braich Goch Inn, which regularly has live music, are both located in Corris.
There is enough parking available for at least 10 vehicles at each Centre.
…Catering
A commercial kitchen is available at each Centre with large oven & hob, microwave kettles & toasters. Each Centre has a pay-phone and a small supply of leisure activities.

…Activity Instruction!
Ty’n y Berth is a licensed provider Outdoor and Adventurous Activities under the terms of the Adventurous Activities Licensing Act. (AALA) Staff hold Nationally recognised qualifications in Mountaineering, Mine Leadership and Rock Climbing.
Subject to availability, It may be possible to hire an instructor and specialist equipment for a day for climbing, slate mine exploration, gorge walking, abseiling or guided walks. |
…Children & Families
The area is not just for outdoor types. There are plenty of family friendly activities nearby including craft centres, steam railways, swimming pools… and of course, the beach! |
