Outdoor Education Courses - Ropes Courses

Suitability: All Age Groups Duration: 1/2 day

Close to each Centre, there is a series of ropes, tyres, balance beams, and other obstacles suspended at a low level off the ground. The aim of this activity is to travel around the course, negotiating the obstacleswithout touching the ground.
Whether participants work in pairs, individually or in small teams, the Ropes Courses are problem solving activities requiring balance, communication and lots of co-operation.

Add to this a bucket full of water, and you have an activity which becomes a tremendous amount of fun!
The course at Ty'n y Berth is suspended over a boggy woodland floor, and finishes with a swing over a muddy pool onto a tyre.

The Bryn Coedwig course, is over a well drained forest floor. It is possible for groups to undertake the course at the alternative centre.
Both ropes courses are 1/2 day activities, and combine well with Mine Exploration or 1/2 day walks.

Ajacent to the course at Ty'n y Berth, is the SWAMP! This is a trail a trail folloing a rope through an area of boggy, watery woodland. Due to the dificulty moving through this depth of water, this activity is usually only approprite for secondary age pupils and above.
