Youth & Community
With youth unemployment at a record high, Wide Horizons is in an excellent position to help our young people gain the skills and knowledge they need to get back in to the workforce.
Running work experience and employment projects in the past for NEETS, we have seen adventure dramatically increasing their chance of employability, with 88% of the participants gaining employment.
This inspired us to begin The ACE Project, a series of residential courses taking a child from early teens to employment. We work with the child through a series of adventurous residential courses, paired with workshops and mentoring, designed to provide children and young people with opportunities for adventure, a challenge and the chance to develop leadership skills and confidence
Wide Horizons is an approved activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh Award, enabling us to provide more adventure opportunities at expedition level for young people.
